Cut on the owner's word, 2026-10-13: "I OK cutting r8.5." Head: 77f2c30 Previous tag: producer-code-r8.4 at e89ecece5 Producer code since r8.4. 11 of the 16 digest-pinned producer helpers changed: carbon/battery/truth_env.py, scripts/dev/battery/feasibility02.py, middle_bands_refine.py, v3_panel_export.py, scripts/dev/evidence_runs/comparison_inputs.py, settlement.py, scripts/dev/motor/feasibility02/{panel_export,run}.py and scripts/dev/reference_packages/elmer/{f02_baselines,f02_export,f02_menu}.py. All 16 pins in producer.py were verified against this exact head's file bytes by recomputing each file's sha256 at this commit; every one matches. SIGN IS WITHHELD from this cut. probe_pairs lives in carbon/battery/value/sign_gate.py, which is NOT in producer.py's PINNED dict, so a change to the SIGN gate's own helper would not be caught by the producer digest check. Withholding is the fail-closed answer; the Test Lead accepted that framing. This tag therefore carries no SIGN authority. This tag records producer-code identity at a commit.
