What a subnet's place in the deregistration queue means
The queue is an ordering by the chain's moving price, not a forecast — how a rank is assigned, why it shifts without a trade, and what immunity does to it.

An ordering, not a countdown
The queue is the order in which subnets would be dissolved if registrations kept arriving: #1 goes with the next registration, #2 with the one after. It says nothing about when a registration will come — only who goes first when it does.
Taosis ranks the way the chain does: every non-immune subnet by the chain's EMA price, lowest first, older first on ties. That is the Dereg # column on the screener, on by default, with the front of the queue highlighted.
Why the moving price, and what that changes
The chain ranks by SubnetMovingPrice — an exponential moving average it maintains itself and never lets exceed 1 τ — not by the spot price. A spot price can jump on one buy; the moving price follows gradually.
So a subnet whose spot price has collapsed keeps its old rank for a while, and a rank can move on a day the subnet traded nothing, because the moving prices around it drifted. The EMA τ column in the picker shows the figure the ranking actually uses.
Immunity takes a subnet out of the queue
A newly registered subnet is immune for a period read from the chain — about 120 days — during which no registration can deregister it, however low its moving price. Immune subnets are left out of the ranking and hold no position at all.
Immunity ends at a block, not a date. Taosis shows that block in the Immune column and as a badge on the row, and prints "no" once it has passed — a verified answer, not a blank. A subnet guard alert can warn when immunity lapses.
What the rank cannot tell you
A rank is a position, not a probability. Whether #1 is dissolved this week or never depends on how often new subnets register, which the rank does not encode. Taosis estimates that separately, from the registration rate it has observed, and leaves it blank when it has observed none.
Nor does the rank say anything about the subnet's work, miners or liquidity. The honest reading of it is: if a registration happened now, this is the order.
