How a subnet gets deregistered

Registering a new subnet dissolves the weakest existing one. Here is how the queue is ordered and what it costs.

The slot limit is the whole mechanism

The network holds a fixed number of subnet slots. When someone registers a new subnet and every slot is full, the subnet at the front of the prune queue is dissolved to make room.

Ranking is by the chain's own moving price, not the spot price. A newly registered subnet is protected for an immunity period.

What it costs to trigger one

Registration has a lock cost in τ that falls over time and jumps after each registration. Taosis reads that cost live, so "what would it take" is answerable rather than hypothetical.

Why the probability is sometimes blank

Taosis models the probability from the registration rate it has actually observed, over a window it names.

When it has observed no registrations, it returns nothing — not zero. Zero observations is not zero risk, and printing 0% there would be the single most misleading number on the site.
