It doesn't unlock anything. Your files are encrypted on your device with a key that comes from a 12-word recovery seed, and your unlock password encrypts that seed. We only store a sealed copy we can't open. If we could hand you the key, we could also read your files. So we don't hold it. The trade-off: there's no reset email, because we have nothing to reset. Forget your password and your 12 words restore access. Lose both, and your files can't be recovered, by you or by us. That's what zero-knowledge encryption costs, and what it buys: files nobody but you can read.
