How each screener column is computed
Three kinds of column — read, derived and sampled — under two rules: a blank is never a zero, and root is not a market.

Three kinds of column
A read is a chain storage item shown as it is: Price τ, EMA τ, TAO in pool, α in pool, Staked α, Burned α, Swap fee, Owner. A derived column is arithmetic on reads: market cap is EMA price × (α in pool + α staked out − α burned), FDV is EMA price × 21,000,000, ADR is max(α staked out − α burned, 0) ÷ α in pool, and depth comes from the τ reserve and the swap fee on a constant-product curve.
A sampled column needs a history: the 1h, 24h, 7d, 30d and 90d changes and the sparkline from Taosis's price samples (read back from the chain's archive to dTAO's launch), Vol 24h from indexed fills, TAO flow 24h and 7d from two readings of the chain's SubnetTaoFlow counter, and the Concentration group from the holder scan. APR (simple) and APY (compounded) are reads: the default validator's latest epoch dividends over the α its nominators held, from chain storage at one block, and the same rate compounded every epoch. A column's sort value and displayed value are one expression, so sorting by market cap orders by exactly the figure in the cell.
Two rules every cell obeys
A blank is not a zero. Anything unverifiable shows a dash, and a dash sorts last in both directions, so unknown never poses as the smallest number. A printed 0 is verified: Emission % reads 0 where the chain allocated the subnet no τ that block (a 100% miner burn, a share far below the emission gate, emission switched off, or a subnet the chain has not started), and Chain buys reads 0 where the subnet's allocation fitted under the pairing cap.
Root (SN0) is not a market. Staking to it is one-to-one with τ, so it has no pool, no depth and no share of any network total, and every column that means one of those is blanked by netuid — the chain does publish zeros there. Root is hidden unless "Show root" is on.
Only offered when it can answer
The picker groups columns under Price, Size & flow, Trading 24h, Supply, Liquidity, Emission & yield, Ownership & conviction, Concentration and Lifecycle, with presets — Essentials, Trader, Investor, Risk, Everything. The choice is kept in your own browser.
A column that would read a dash on every row is not offered: 30d and 90d appear once some subnet has a price sample that old from its current registration, Concentration once a holder scan has produced a row, Mechs once some subnet runs more than one mechanism. A column that answers nothing is indistinguishable from a broken one.
Where the definition lives
Each header has a short explanation behind ⓘ; the full definition — formula, chain source, caveat — is on the Definitions page, which the tooltips paraphrase. HHI here is min-normalised and market cap subtracts burned α, which matters before comparing across sites.
APR (simple) and APY (compounded) are those of the subnet's default validator: among its paid validators, the most-staked one whose yield is within 2 points of the best, annualised from the latest epoch. They are not the highest yield on the subnet.

How Taosis reads the chain
Storage items read on a cadence, events indexed as they happen, and series that begin the day the watching began — which is why every figure names its source.
Market cap, FDV and supply
Supply counts α without pricing it; market cap prices what circulates at the chain's moving price; FDV prices the 21 million α every subnet could one day have.
What Taosis can and cannot know
The one page to read first: why a blank is never a zero, and why some questions are refused outright.
