How Bittensor became my crypto rabbit hole 😂

I’ve reached the point where I barely look at crypto anymore 😂 Funny how things change. A while ago I was checking charts, narratives, altcoins, rotations… basically looking at everything that moved. Now? Bitcoin. And then I somehow fell even deeper down the Bittensor rabbit hole. These days, most of my attention is on TAO and Bittensor subnets. My current subnet allocation is spread across 8 subnets: 🟦 Lium — 17.9% 🟩 Chutes — 16.7% 🟨 GM — 15.2% 🟥 Targon — 13.9% 🟪 Engy — 12.2% 🩵 Green Compute — 10.1% 🩷 Score — 8.0% 🟢 Bitcast — 6.1% I’m not saying these are the winners — that’s exactly why I’m diversified across several instead of betting everything on one. What I find fascinating is that Bittensor makes me think about crypto differently. Instead of just asking: “What token is going to pump?” I’m increasingly asking: “Which networks are actually building something people will pay for?” And with the recent emission changes putting significantly more weight on the stronger subnets, I’m even more interested in watching which projects can actually prove themselves. So I’m curious about the Bittensor crowd: 🔥 Which subnets are YOU most bullish on right now, and WHY? Don’t just drop the ticker. Runtime 452 (proposed)

Proposed runtime upgrade to spec 452 (awaiting signatures) CI has submitted its half of the 2-of-2 deployment multisig for this upgrade on finney. It executes once the sudo multisig (triumvirate) produces the second approval. This tag is the exact code being deployed. Sign it Each triumvirate member runs: btcli upgrade sign --url https://github.com/RaoFoundation/subtensor/releases/tag/v452 -w <your-wallet> btcli verifies the call data against the chain (structure, sudo key, on-chain call hash) before submitting, and picks the right approval (first / interior / final) from chain state automatically. Root Reborn is live: validators can now pick their own basket, and this changes how you stake

Before, staking on root paid you interest automatically, in TAO, reinvested into your stake on its own. You did nothing. Now, the validator reinvests your interest into a basket of alphas, the tokens of each subnet. To get your money back, you press a button: the claim. In the Novelty Research episode, Const, the cofounder, presented this as one of Bittensor's first consumer facing products: teams competing for yield, where each validator becomes a manager, and anyone can subscribe to the basket they judge best. Each validator can choose by itself which subnets your interest goes into, and in what amount. Before, every manager bought the same average market portfolio. Now, each one builds its own portfolio. That is basket selection. a validator must spread across at least sixteen subnets, the one sixteenth cap. No single bet. What to look at NAV : the basket's value. Not the validator's size: a large stake can carry a small basket, because the basket only receives reinvested interest. TWR : the basket's performance since creation. The number to compare managers. The gaps are tiny today, decisive in a few weeks. Weights : the real signal. Empty: not chosen yet. Equal: set without sorting. Differentiated: active selection, the strongest signal. Redeemed : what people withdrew. A jump means a big claim, someone selling a basket. Sold as a block into small illiquid subnets, it can crush their price. Kraken's basket was worth 2,427 TAO. A big staker hit claim, it fell to 580 TAO, and the price of its main subnets dropped about 20%. Not a fundamental problem: a structural capacity. A big staker can dump a whole basket at once, and it crushes small illiquid subnets. That is the risk to watch. A subset of validators already set their selection. Six validators have set in total.
